Samd Guizani is a Chemical Engineer and Pharmacist. His current position is Process Scientist at Ferring Pharmaceuticals (Switzerland). In this role, he deals with projects related to the development of processes and introduction of new technologies (such as PAT, NIR spectroscopy, continuous manufacturing…). Through different positions, he gained experience in drug products formulation, process development and scale-up. He developed skills in Process modelling, Design of Experiment and Statistics. Samd is a certified 6 Sigma Black Belt. As such, he’s training his colleagues on 6 Sigma and DoE methodology as well as supporting them in the execution of their projects.

Mark-John is a chemical engineer with PhD in industrial data analytics and over 25 years in the field. He started his career implementing process and control engineering projects in the New Zealand Dairy Industry. Following his graduate studies at the McMaster Advanced Control Consortium in Canada he helped found and grow ProSensus, an Industrial AI consulting and software company, becoming its VP & CTO. Mark-John joined Aspen Technology in 2016 with the acquisition of the ProMV industrial analytics software. At AspenTech Mark-John has had roles in product management, R&D leadership and currently product marketing, covering technology solutions that include machine learning, process control & optimization, and now with a focus on the Pharmaceuticals business unit.
