Soft tissue injuries, also known as musculoskeletal disorders or MSDs, are a top workplace health and safety concern in pharmaceutical manufacturing. While this industry has some of the same MSD risk factors as other industries, such as repetitive motions and manual material handling, it also comes with a unique set of challenges.

Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations are the focus, and often, less emphasis is placed on how equipment will be used, who will us it, and the overall design of the workplace. Plus, operations and equipment are not easy to change or modify once approved and installed. Fine motor tasks in lab work and bulk handling during and mixing or packaging are common areas of risk.

Ergonomics, when done right, improves both employee well-being and operational performance. When ignored, injuries, absenteeism, quality defects, productivity lags, and other issues can arise.

During this live webinar, you will learn methods to mitigate risks and improve workplace design. The presenters, both board-certified professional ergonomists, will address:

  1. Five essential steps to preventing MSDs in this industry
  2. The most common workplace ergonomics issues specific to pharma manufacturing
  3. How to use ergonomic design guidelines to reduce injury risk
